I am a writer and narrative designer with over 12 years experience in the games industry, having started as a QA designer in 2013 and working to become a narrative designer in 2018.
I believe that the best games are crafted by passionate developers with curiosity and interest that extends beyond videogames.
While I certainly enjoy spending a lot of my time diving into narratively rich games, exploring worlds and becoming invested in their characters, I like to take my inspiration from across a wide range of sources.
I get a great deal from reading sci-fi and fantasy, as they are my favourite genres to work within, but I also enjoy being informed on history, politics, philosophy, and culture (especially food!). I find that a wide base of knowledge is useful when searching for that creative spark.
When I want to get away from screens, I often find myself cycling, running or visiting the gym. I love to go exploring, and I’ve found that mountain climbing in the Scottish highlands grants you the gift of perspective. When a mountain feels like a bit much, I’m most at peace when hiking alongside trees and running water.
